The River Aire is a large river in Yorkshire, England, stretching 92 miles.

The distance from Malham to Howden is 58 miles direct, although the river actually stretches that to 90 miles, according to the Handbook for Leeds and Airedale (1890). (140 km).
The river dips 400 meters between Malham Tarn and Airmyn . The Aire and Calder Navigation is a canalised section of the river below Leeds.

Taken in 2014 in my garage.   I went through a phase of close up photography when i got a ridiculous 30mm macro lens with minimum focus distance of an inch.    I regret selling that lens!
